FAQs

What is Education Day?

This year MPI D/FW and PCMA Gulf States Chapter are joining forces to bring industry professionals a full day of networking, engagement, and education! Our goal is to bring you the most relevant topics in the industry today, and connect local event, hospitality, and tourism professionals in a meaningful way.

When and where is Education Day 2024?

March 20 at Omni Frisco at the Star.

Do I have to be a member to attend Education Day?

No! Both MPI DFW, PCMA Gulf States Chapter Members, and non-members are welcome to attend.

I can’t be out of the office all day. Will you livestream the content?

We get it! Sometimes it’s hard to get away for a full day. While we will not be streaming content, we do have a HALF DAY option for attendees! Join us for morning educational sessions and lunch, or come for lunch and stay through happy hour! Check out our half day options in registration.

For real, I can’t be out of the office at all on Wednesday, March 20, so I can’t attend….THINK AGAIN!

We get it, sometimes it’s impossible to get away. BUT, it’s always 5 O’clock somewhere, including at Education Day! Register to join us for the Education Day Happy Hour only from 5pm – 7pm at Omni Frisco at the Star. Beautiful rooftop, live band, industry friends from both MPI and PCMA…what’s not to love?!

What kind of content can I expect at Education Day 2024?

You can check out all our sessions here. But, expect to hear A LOT about tech! We’ll also cover contracting, marketing, F&B, and communication. You really won’t want to miss this! FOMO is real!

Will I receive CEU’s for Education Day?

Absolutely! Full day attendees can expect to receive 7 CEUs. Half-day attendees can expect to receive 4 CEU’s.

For you happy hour only attendees, sorry, no CE’s for kickin’ it with us. Though…maybe we need to chat with EIC about that 😉

What else can I expect at Education Day?

In addition to great content, we’ll have:

  • A Headshot Café, sponsored by EPNAC
  • Gamification for door prizes, sponsored by VARIO
  • Lipstick Readings by Mystic Kathryn
  • An Aromatherapy Experience by Mystic Kathryn
  • Build Your Own Succulent Experience, facilitated by PRA
  • Happy hour on the gorgeous Omni pool deck with InFocus Band

Yeah…because of our incredible network of suppliers and sponsors, we’re going big this year! Thanks sponsors!

Other than the registration fee, should I expect any additional costs?

No. Parking at all the public lots at The Star is free and all F&B is included with your registration. New headshots are on us too!

Check out the free parking lots on our venue page here

Where should I park?

Parking at all the public lots at The Star is free. Check out the free parking lots on our venue page here

Additionally, Omni does have valet service, available for $25 for Education Day Attendees.

I’m excited about the sessions, and want to ensure my questions on the topics are addressed in the session!

Amazing! Us too! Head over to the Schedule tab or Speaker tab and submit your questions in advance of the session and our speakers will make sure to answer them during Education Day!

What is the attire?

Business Casual. We’re all friends here! Meeting rooms can get chilly, so bring a sweater.

Happy Hour will be hosted on the gorgeous Omni pool deck, The Edge. Make sure to bring your sunnies!

Do we have to attend the sessions we signed up for?

There is only one session that has limited capacity, the 3pm session “Not Your Mom’s F&B Session.” This is a hands-on interactive F&B Experience led by Omni Frisco’s Director of Banquet Services. As this is a hands on session, capacity is limited to 25 attendees. We would like to mention that this session came together later in our registration process. We did send emails to attendees who registered early to join this session, but we know that process was not perfect. However, if you are one of the lucky ones who will experience this session, we can’t wait to hear all about it!

All other sessions are open seating and there will be plenty of space in each session!

Just to be clear, so other than “Not Your Mom’s F&B Session,” I can attend any session regardless if I signed up for it?

Correct! We will NOT have session assignments on your badges, and you don’t have to remember what you signed up for. We wanted to gauge our most popular sessions, but we will have PLENTY of seating in each session.

The only session you cannot just show up to is the one mentioned above, “Not Your Mom’s F&B Session.” Otherwise, happy choosing!

What will be served for Breakfast Lite Bites?

Yum, glad you asked! Breakfast lite bites will include Seasonal Fresh Fruit and Sausage Kolaches, Unlimited Coffee, Hot Tea,  and water!
